Career Launch Consulting résumé builder
Last updated: October 15, 2026
These terms explain what this résumé builder does with your information and what you agree to by using it. We have kept them short and plain. If anything is unclear, email us at info@careerlaunchconsulting.com.
1. What the tool is
The résumé builder is run by Career Launch Consulting ("we", "us"). It reads documents you upload, such as service records, evaluations, old résumés and job descriptions, and uses artificial intelligence (AI) to draft a résumé, LinkedIn text and, if you add a job posting, a résumé aimed at that job. You need an access code to use it, and the number of times you can use it in a day is limited.
By using the tool you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.
2. What we keep
When you start building your résumé (after you add your documents and press "Build my record"), we keep:
- your first and last name and your email address
- the path you chose (service member or veteran, or military spouse)
- the access code you used and the event it belongs to
- the city and state, phone number and LinkedIn URL you add for the top of your résumé, if you add them. These are optional. If you add them again on a later visit, we keep the most recent ones.
- a record of each time you used the tool: the date and the steps that ran. This record holds none of your documents or résumé text.
We keep these until we delete them. There is no automatic deletion date. If you would like your details deleted, email info@careerlaunchconsulting.com and we will remove them.
If your code is not accepted, or you leave before you start building your résumé, we keep nothing about you.
We back up our database regularly. After we delete your details, a copy can remain in a backup until that backup expires. Backups never hold your documents or résumés, because those are never saved.
3. How we use what we keep
We use these details to:
- follow up with you about your résumé and your career transition
- tell you about Career Launch events and news
- understand which events and codes people come from, and roughly where they are
We do not sell your details.
4. What we do not keep
Your documents and what the tool writes from them are used for your session only:
- the documents you upload and the text read from them
- the job posting you add
- your answers to the tool's questions
- your résumés, in every format, and your LinkedIn text
These are held in the tool's working memory while your session runs, for at most one hour from your upload, and then deleted. You can end your session sooner with "End my session now", which deletes them at once. A session also ends if the tool is updated while you are using it. They are never saved to our database, to file storage or to our logs. Download anything you want to keep before your session ends.
Changes you make to your LinkedIn text on screen stay in your browser and are lost when you leave the page.
5. How AI is used, and by whom
The tool sends your documents, the job posting and your answers to an outside AI provider, which reads them and writes your résumé and LinkedIn text. Photos and scanned pages are sent as images so they can be read.
- The details you type into the tool's forms (your name, email, city and state, phone and LinkedIn URL) are added to your résumé by the tool after the AI has written it. They are not sent to the AI provider. Your uploaded documents are, and they usually include your name and other personal details.
- We use AI providers' business services, under terms that do not allow them to use what we send to train their AI models. They may keep what we send for a limited time under their own policies, for example to check for misuse. That is separate from our one hour.
- The tool and its database run on an outside hosting provider, which keeps its own records of web requests. Those records can include your internet address.
6. Your documents and identification numbers
Please upload only your own documents. You do not need to include a Social Security number or DoD ID number, and the tool does not need one. Remove them or cover them before you upload.
The tool tries to remove Social Security and DoD ID numbers from text before it is kept or sent, but this catches the usual written forms only and is not a guarantee. It cannot remove anything from a photo or a scanned page: whatever the picture shows reaches the AI provider. When you photograph a document, cover any identification number first.
7. Check what the AI wrote
Your résumé and LinkedIn text are written by AI. AI can get things wrong: it can misread a document, leave something out or word something in a way that is not accurate. Read everything carefully and correct it before you send it to an employer or post it. You are responsible for what you submit and publish.
8. No guarantees
The tool is provided as it is. We do not promise that it will always be available, that it will be free of errors, or that using it will get you an interview or a job. We may change, pause or stop the tool at any time, including pausing new runs.
9. Limits
To the extent the law allows, Career Launch Consulting is not responsible for losses that come from using the tool or relying on what it writes.
10. Cookies and your browser
The tool uses two small cookies that it needs to work: one for your session, and one that counts your uses for the daily limit. Neither tracks you across other websites. Your browser tab also briefly remembers your first name, last initial and current session, so a page refresh does not lose your place; that goes when you close the tab.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. Using the tool after an update means you accept the new terms.
